Our Montana Ponds team has been providing full-scale pond services throughout Montana since 1999. From initial pond design and construction to pond repair and maintenance, we offer personalized service and professional expertise. Headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, we are locally owned and operated.

GREG JOHNSON, FOUNDER/OWNER
Greg founded Montana Ponds in 1999, connecting his artistic soul with his love of nature. He sees water as art in motion and every pond as a masterpiece. Raised in Bozeman in a family of legendary athletes and adventurers, Greg spent his childhood scouting the mountains on foot and skis. This led to a Nordic Skiing Scholarship at Montana State University and a degree in Horticulture from that fine institution. After college, his yen for adventure and contributing to the larger world took him to the South Pacific Kingdom of Tonga with the Peace Corps. Here he planted fruit orchards, making many life-long friends from throughout the world, many of whom he continues to visit when not home building ponds in Montana.
TERRY SMITH, OWNER
Terry spent thirty years caring for people as a nurse, first in pediatrics, then working her way through the circle of life with a nine-year stint as a hospice nurse. Over the last five years, she has transitioned from her focus on the human lifecycle to the nitrogen cycle by diving head-first, into the pond business.
Terry and Greg at Montana Ponds are very skilled and knowledgeable and do a fantastic job of maintaining the multiple water features for us. They were a huge help troubleshooting issues we were having and recommending and implementing effective solutions. They are very reliable and responsive and I recommend them without hesitation.
